Introduction

Dalini is a navigation app for electric-vehicle and Tesla drivers in Iraq, available at dalini-iq.com and as a mobile app. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and who it is shared with. We collect the minimum needed to run the service, and we do not sell user data to anyone.

Information we collect

1. Location

Your device location is used to show your position, calculate routes, warn about speed cameras and road closures, and find the nearest charger or service centre. Location is processed on your device and we do not keep a history of your movements. It reaches our servers only in two cases you choose: when you submit a report (only the report's location is stored), or when you enable Convoy location sharing with a friend, for a duration you pick that never exceeds 8 hours and expires automatically.

2. Account information

Optional registration asks only for your name and phone number, and issues an access code that works on your phone and your car screen. We never ask for a password or payment details. You may optionally add an email, nickname and avatar in your profile. The app can be used fully without registering.

3. Tesla vehicle data (optional)

If you connect your car, we read via Tesla's official API: battery percentage, estimated range, charging state, outside temperature and tyre pressure — to display them and estimate your charge on arrival. We cannot drive, unlock or control the vehicle. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, which deletes the cached vehicle data.

4. Google / YouTube account (optional)

If you sign in with Google inside the YouTube player, we request only the youtube.readonly scope — that is, read-only access to your playlists and liked videos so they can be listed and played inside the app. We never create, modify or delete anything in your account, and we do not read your email or files. The access token stays on your device in browser session storage, is never sent to our servers, and is discarded when you close the tab or press "Sign out". Dalini's use of YouTube API Services is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Community reports and contributions

Reports (traffic, crash, closure, speed camera, charger status) are stored with their location and time so other drivers can see them. Your name and phone number are never shown to other users alongside a report. Service centres and shop products submitted by their owners are displayed publicly at their request.

6. Technical and usage data

We keep aggregate statistics (visits, trips, button taps) to improve the app, and a random device identifier to enforce the per-code device limit. We use no advertising trackers and sell no data.

Who we share with

• Technical providers: Google Maps (maps and routing), Supabase (database), Netlify (hosting) — solely to operate the service.
• Tesla: only if you connect your car, and only to read your own vehicle's data.
• Sellers and service centres: when you place an order or contact them, they receive your name and phone number to fulfil it.
• Your friends: only those you explicitly choose in Convoy, for the duration you set.

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising purposes.

Your rights

• Use the app fully without registering.
• Disconnect your Tesla or Google account at any time in Settings.
• Stop location sharing instantly from the Convoy screen.
• Request deletion of your account and data — contact us and it will be completed within 30 days.

Security and retention

All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS and the database is protected by strict access rules. Temporary reports (traffic/crash) expire within hours, vehicle readings are cached for minutes only, and location-sharing data is deleted when the sharing period ends.

Children

Dalini is intended for drivers and is not directed at anyone under 16; we do not knowingly collect their data.
